| kezdi: Re: genealogy | Akmar, Alsó-Fehér=(Lower-White) County, Hungary 'til 1920, Romania after, and as you wrote correctly Acmariu today, Alba County, which also means White County. "Terra blahorum" could be White/Empty land in Latin, or perhaps Blah-Vlah, the old name of the Romanians. What was your g.father ethnicity, language, do you know his date of birth, what kind of manuscriptum is? Miclaus could be the Rom. eq. of the Hung. Miklos=(Nicholaus), a common first and last name. Ellis Island shows an Adam Micklos, Hung. nat'l, Rom. ethn., arr'd in 1910, m. age 34, wife Maria from Alospan, but that could be something else because there was no such a place.
Romanian White pages listing 13 Miclaus and 17 Miklos in Alba County, no Micklos: http://www.whitepages.ro/
