| meregeo: Re: Czoka Family in Dulfalva | | I am the granddaughter of George and Mary, my father was John who was born in 1918 in West Brownsville, Pa. My name is Arlene Kloos(Czoka). I used to talk to my father a lot about his family, but I just found out a couple of months ago that we were Hungarian. We always were told that Czoka was Czech. I didn't know that Mary(my grandmother was Czech), my father told me that my grandmother died during the flu epidemic at that time. My grandparents had 3 children Anne, George and John. After Mary died, George put them in an orphanage until he met and married Sadie,a school teacher. They had 2 children, Donald and Paul. All of them are now deceased. I don't believe my grandfather was alive when I was born in 1955. Sadie died in 1973, I believe. We used to visit her yearly. Anne had 1 daughter(deceased), George(uncle) had no children, I am the youngest of 6. Paul had 3 I believe and Donald we never knew. The way we found out that grandpa was Hungarian is that my mother(who is in a nursing home in Myrtle Beach, SC) needed his birth certificate and my sister Nancy seen the information on it. My father told me that grandpa drove a bread truck and ironically so did Uncle George and my father was a baker. You can reach me at the email merks513 -k-u-k-a-c- yahoo -p-o-n-t- com or my sister Nancy at spatts@aol.com. Looking forward to hearing from you and please let me know more about you. Arlene |
