I am looking for information about a town called "Gocs" in Hungary. I have some information that my great grandfather was born in that town in the 1850s, but I cannot find the town on any modern-day maps of Hungary. Does anyone have any information about Gocs? Does it still exist inside the borders of Hungary? Is it now in another country? Or, perhaps it no longer exists? Any info would be appreciated.

I am also looking for some information on a town called Kassan, Hungary. I have some information that my great-grandmother was born there in the 1870s. I cannot locate this town on modern-day maps of Hungary. Any information would be appreciated.

The village of Gocs, Hungary is now Gocovo, Slovak Republic.
You will find Gocs on the 1910 Hungarian megye map http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910 Click on Gomor. To locate a village in Slovak Republic use :
