Surname MIZ^IALKO does show up in Brezova pod Bradlom's phone book. www.zoznamst.sk

www.iabsi.com/gen/public
www.geoportal.sk/roep/e.php search for Mizialko and Mizialkova (female). Only this spelling shows up in SK's phone book so most likely the other posters is researching the same surname. Of course it does depend where her/his ancestor was born.

Zlatica : Re: Mizialko
Your welcome.

You might consider sending a letter to the Mizialko that list in the phone book. Most likely even the one in city of Bratislava's phone book could be a distant relative.
Have you posted on Ancestry, Genforum, www.iabsi.com/gen/public www.slovensko.com www.iarelative.com

I have posted w/ a few of the websites you mentioned but haven't had any luck. I have considered writing a letter, however, I don't speak/write Slovak but it still is a good idea!

Take a chance. There are only two MIZIALKOs in the phone book. More and more children and adults are learning English. I don't recall seeing your surname on the board but as many boards that I frequent I can not recall of the surnames. Are the 3 MIZIALKOs, 1 MIZALKO, 1MIZALKOVA and 2 MISZALKOs that came thru EI related to your ancestor? www.ellisislandrecords.org

Katarina Miz.: Re: Mizialko
HI Val,
I don't know if we are talking about the same person,I'm afraid we are not. my great grandfather Stefan Mizialka, died around 1901 after return from USA,funny enought he was born in Brezova Pod Bradlom, and emigrated somewhere near Chicago. There is not so many Mizialka in Slovakia, I have tried to found them, but most of them emigrated to USA.As far as I know, my grandad/was only child/whose name by mistake, someone changed to Michal Mizalka, did have one cousin Jan Mizalka,in Nove Mesto nad Vahom/Krivosud Bodovka, but unfortunately, this person is dead now.

valaking: Re: Mizialko
I don't think it's the same Stefan Mizialko either. He immigrated in either 1891 or 1898 (census record is not clear). He married Judita Kriho in 1898 & they had 6 children. Their 2nd daughter, Judita is my grandmother, my dad's mom. Unfortunately she died in 1934. Stefan died in 1932. They lived in Chicago. It gets so confusing because they keep using the same given names!

No, I'm not in Slovakia, I live in Florida. Where are you?

Oh, both Stefan & his wife Judita are from Brezova pod Bradlom & I think they married in Chicago. I would think they came through Ellis Island but so far have found no record of it.

I know that you are in USA but I suspected that Katarina might be living in Slovak Republic and looking for distant relatives in US.
If your Stefan came thru Ellis Island than he should be there. Did you use: www.stevemorse.org

I am in Ohio.
