| Stefan Gartner: Re: Michael | Dear Michael,
My name is Stefan Gartner. Your Grandmother, Theresia Gartner was my cousin. You may already have all the information I have, but just in case you do not I will recount what I remember. Your grandmother was the child of Theresia Gartner who was married to a man named Wolf. (I do not remember his given name). Theresia Gartner Wolf died from blood poisoning, allegedly, when her daughter Thersia Wolf was not yet ten years old. Soon thereafter Theresia Wolf’s father remarried and they had a male child. (I do not recall the name). The father died shortly thereafter, leaving a widow with two children, one of them a stepchild. The families agreed that the child Theresia Wolf would live with the family of Stefan Gartner, the youngest brother of the mother, then living in Nagyesztergar. In February 1948 the family was deported to East Germany. In May 1948 The family crossed into West Germany, eventually settling in Neu Ulm. From there forward the geneology should be a matter of record. You will not recall this but you and I actually met when I was in Gemany on business. I think you were about three years old then.
Regards
Stefan Gartner
