Looking for info on Hurgoi Petru, born in Bekesgyula in 1864, Bekes County, husband of Brad Ilona (Elena), also from Bekesgyula, born in 1872, deceased in Pecica in 1958. He lived in 1904 at Szenttamasi Puszta (Pusta Santamas).

Please disregard above message. Peter was born on 14 sept 1866 in Kupa puszta, Csanad megye and baptized in Battonya.

Should anyone be interested in the Hurgoi family in Gyula, feel free to contact me (in English, Romanian or Hungarian).

shiny: heimlich in bekesgyula

if anyone can help me to find heimlich family . The husband janos and wife loti
they married in 1908 in bekesgyula and lived there and had several children (maybe 3). one of them is emanuel heimlich and there was a sister too. i assume that janos heimlich emigrated in usa , and a few years later his son emanuel left too to usa . they where born in Hunyad district , at Rusor (wich is now in romania) . father janos in april 1860 and emanuel in 1888, Jan.
i want to know if there is someone left of this family in hungary , and anything that can help to find roots. Thanks a lot. Shiny

I believe I am related to this family. You have all the same names but wrong date that Janos and Loti was married. By that time I believe Janos was already dead in America. I also believe Loti remarried in a civil ceremony. They had about eight children before Janos came to America. Emanuel was my grandfather. The birth
dates were right. Loti never came to America.

Based on FTDNA (www.familytreedna.com) test results for the paternal Y-DNA of the Hurgoi lineage, this human paternal lineage belongs to Y-DNA Haplgroup R1a1, indicating possible proto-Slavic or Slavic roots, or associated with the Kurgan culture (3,000 BC).
