I am searching for the surname of Peterka. My grandmother
lived in Battyanfelva, Hungary which is now Rakican, Slovenia. She was the daughter of Mikael and Poulina Peterka. I have visited Slovenia and been able to locate
many relatives, but I still have plenty more. My grandmother came to the states in 1905 at the age of fifteen. I know that many young people from Battyanfelva
traveled with her and many more came during that year. She
returned, met my grandfather who lived on the Austrian side
of the Muir River. They came to the states in 1912. I
would like to hear from anyone living in Rakican or anyone
with the surname of Peterka.
