I'm looking for information about Meri Sontra who was born 8 Jan 1889 in Telkibanya, Abaúj, Hungary. She was the daughter of Stephen Sontra & Meri Krakay (sp?).

Please contact me if you have any information on this family or know how I can find out more about them. I do not have any birth records or marriage record of the parents.

Came upon your query on Ancestry. Post also on Genforum.
Go for the church records of Telkibanya, if they are correct religious denomination of your ancestor. If not, you just have to search a bit and the church might be within few miles from Telkibanya. Good idea to make a copy of the megye and highlight the town.

Nick Hornyak: Hornyak family

My great grandfather was Andros Hornyak, whom I believe was born in Telkibanya in 1874. I don't know his wife's name, but he had several children. One son's name was Janos Hornyak who was born about 1903, but I'm not sure of his birthplace. Either in Telkibanya or Gonc.

Janos Hornyak married Julianna Lefkanics(Lefkanic, Lefkanits) and they were living in Gonc about 1930. Later, I think the whole Hornyak family lived in Tokaj. A lot of them live there today.
