Searching for information on the 1869 Hungarian Census for Voyany. Do these records exist? Where do I write to hava a search performed? My great grandfather should be on the census. He married a Barbara Gyure about 1865.

Vajan is in the 1869 Hungarian Land Census. I have a copy as translated by Martha Conner. My family is also from Vajan, and my gr-grandmother was a Gyure. Is that you Steve? Please email me.

Hopefully your email is still active. I have hit a brick wall on my grandfathers family from Vajan.
Please email me if you have any records for Peter Szabo,possibly a brother John also. Szabo is such a common name that it is nearly impossible to find anything let alone a Peter and a John.

SZABO (is a common surname)in Izkovce and Besa which falls under Vojany. www.zoznamst.sk All 3 have a cell phone but the address does shows up.

These are the Sabos that I know of at the present time.

Four Resan Brothers and a sister immigrated from Vayan. The brothers worked first in the coal mines in Trimble County Ohio near Athens Ohio. One brother settled in Whiting Indiana and a sister married a Peter Gyure (also from Vayan) and also settled in Whiting.

The other brothers settled in a Hungarian community in Joliet Illinois. One brother (Gyula Resan) had two sons: my father Alfred Resan who settled in Chicago and Walter who married a Margaret Sabo daughter of Steve (1893-1975)and Mary (1897-1981) Sabo. I am not sure but they may also have come from Vayan. I remember there may have been other Sabos in our church when I was growing up in the 50s (First Hungarian Evangelical and Reformed Church 92nd and Langley (Burnside) a block off cottage grove avenue, Chicago. I hope this may be of help connecting somewhere.
