Denise: Palugyai/Szuhai
I am researching MIKSA PALUGYAI who came to the United States, accompanied by ZSIGMOND and JANOS PALUGYAI, in 1902; they all came from Also-Szuha. MIKSA's parents were PAUL PALUGYAI and MARIA SZUHAI. I do not know the names of any siblings or if those PALUGYAIs who accompanied him were brothers or cousins. He returned to Hungary, married, then again travelled to the United States in 1907 without his wife and stayed in the US for the rest of his life. Please contact me if you are working on anyone in Also-Szuha; I would love to compare notes. Thanks, Denise

Zlatica : Re: Palugyai/Szuhai
The village of Alsoszuha falls into the Gomor megye.
The old 1910 Hungarian megye map is at :
http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910 click on Gomor

www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm (mapquest) is a good locator.

The Hungarian phone site is at :
www.matav.hu/tudakozo/index_e.html
The name SZUHAI seems to be in existance.

For locating an Ellis Island manifest try :
www.stevemorse.org
www.jewishgen.org/databases/EIDB/ellis.html

The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) have filmed the church records so check out what they have for Alsoszuha, which you can order, and gather ancestral information.
