Hi,
I am just starting to research my family history. I know my father was born in Brestowatz in 1933, John Kopschitz. My grandfather's name was George Kopschitz. I really no nothing about my family and was just looking for any information about the Kopschitz family.

Hi Stefan, my dad was born in Brestovac in 1921. His name was Michael Patzek, his claim to fame there was when he burned down the barn around as a child. His brother was Matthew. My Cousin, Joseph Patzek also was born there and is around your age. He lives in Ohio now, he left Brestovac after the war. I would love to go there to see where my father was born, He had lots of memeories of his town. My grandmother was Elizabeth Vogl Patzek. Her dad was Florian Vogl. Just saw you got your info from the book on Brestowatz.

That is also where I got my info.

I know the Wackers, Stemmers, Kapps and Brenners who lived in New Jersey.

I am just trying to find info. about my family from Brestowatz, like what they did for a living, etc. Does anyone know how I could find such information. My father just passed away last February so I can no longer ask him for information. I know the Kopschitz family lived in Brestowatz for years. My mother was also born in Yugoslavia, her name was Roswitha Kopp. She was born in Semlin. Does anyone know anything about this town? My grandfather's name (her father) was Karl Kopp and his father's name was also Karl Kopp. I know my grandmother's name was Veronika Mayer. Any info would be appreciated.. Thanks, Cheryl

My mother was born in Semlin, Yugoslavia. Her name was Roswitha Kopp, my grandfather was Karl Kopp, I am not sure where or if he was born there too. hi mickey. my grandfather was born in brestovac too. his name was Lorenz Patzek. he emigrated with most of his familiy during the war to germany, from where lot of people spreaded out all over germany, some even arrived in brasil and australia.
as far as i remember from the genealogy books of brestovac, michael patzek was a near relative of my grandfather. i would like to stay in contact with you to exchange further information

Is Patzek also your last name?. I just was on Tribute to Brestovatz. I regonized many names. My grandmother was Elizabeth Vogl,he mother was a Mouillon, I knew the Dufts and Armbruster's, when they lived in Chicago.They came over in before and around the 1920's. My grandmother's sister were in those concentration camps also. It amazes me each time I think of the courage my grandmother and father had to have come here, to start a new life. The Bogner and Kapp families are ancestors of mine who emmigrated from Brestocvac in the early 1900's. I would appreciate any information on those families. I believe the Kapp family is related to my grandmother whose father was Martin Capp.
