My grandfather came from Bilke around the time of ww1.The name may or may not have been spelled "Newman"(First name, Eugene). He was Jewish, and was the son of a graf. (We still have his ring.) Anything regarding Bilke would be appreciated.

Both of my father's parents came from Bilke. My grandmother's maiden name was Mangelowitz and my grandfather was Hirshkovitz, perhaps Hershkowitz which he shortened when he came to America. My father spoke of Mandel cousins in Detroit area and meeting a cousin who survived Auchwitz and who came to the US post WWII. I know that many of his aunts and uncles did not survive the camps.
