Does anyone know the history of this village? Was it named after the Boka family that has branched into the village of Gyomore in Gyor Megye<

maria,
www.arcanum.hu/gesta, collection of crossreferenced Hungarian Family and Encyclopedical databases, has many Boka,Bóka, család(family) entries. In case you don't speak Hungarian, names have to be typed in with Hungarian letters, the so called flying accent marks what you're using doesn't work. Let me know if you need help with that. I copied here one entry about Bókaháza, and yes Boka was the landowner among other Nobles per the text. But to find out if the village was named after Bóka, which is quite possible, one would have to read thru all the entries, and more resources.

BOKAHÁZA. Elegyes falu Szala Vármegyében, birtokosai Boka, és más Uraságok, fekszik a’ Szala vizéhez közel Csánynak szomszédságában, mellynek filiája, Szala Apátihoz fél mértföldnyire. Határja középszerű, vagyonnyai külömbfélék, második Osztálybéli.
