Drahovo - Jakubovits forum: Carolle: relative search
tmcfota: Popp from Drahova
I want to locate relatives of Mike Popp, 1884-1976. Mike was born in Drahova, Czech. His wife Szuchara Marika Miklus could be from same area or Austria Hungary. Her father was named Nick Miklus or Nick Zuchara. There is a relative, Anna Ivanivona Popp who lived in Drahovo in 1976. Attached is a family photo. Please write if you can help. Thanks, Theresa

Drahovo - Szuchar forum: Theresa: Szuchara in Drahovo
Carolle: Re: Kovesliget
My Grandparents Jakub Jakubovits and Lillian Abramovits came from this town (Drahova). They came to the US in 1927 with my mother Giza(Gitel) and her two sisters Rose and Freida. They are all gone now. The other day I received an Email from a cousin who was born there. Her family was in the Holocaust and she has been searching for relatives ever since.

Shayna: Re: Kovesliget
What year were you born. My grandmother was born in 1911 and immigrated in 1920 to America. Can you tell me anything about Drahova during those years? I'd be most grateful.
Regards,
Shayna

Hi Shayna,

Did you read the article on Drahova from the Marmaros Yizkor Book that I translated and put online?

http://www.jewishgen.org/Yizkor/maramures/mar270.html

My grandmother was born in Kovesliget (Drahova) in ~1890. She came to Cleveland in 1906, and married my grandfather in Cleveland in 1909. He was originally from a nearby village Szeleslonka (also known as Leh, or Shiruki-Lug).

You can contact me directly from the link on the page:

http://www.jewishgen.org/Yizkor/maramures/Maramures.html#TOC

Hoping to hear from you directly,

Moshe Davis
