Tina: Ebergoc Marriage Record HORVATH
I wondered if someone out there could help me. I am having trouble making out a surname on my ggggrandfather Joseph Horvath's marriage record. I cannot decipher his mother's last name. Looks like Anna (Pazy/Bazy/Cazy?)I am attaching the record. It's the third record on the page.

I don't think it begins with P B or C *áry, there are names there starting with those letters.
In the last row a word appears twice which looks like begins with the same letter: *aroch** if you can read that word probably got the answer.

Well, after a sleep I was thinking of the words in the last row. Normally that row is for the names of the preparers and for notes.

There is one word Capellar I recognize, which means cardinal's hat, the traveling parish priest serving in the name of the cardinal.

The second word, which looks like begins with the same letter as your ancestor, could be Parochus, also means parish priest.

Both words make sense, since Ebergoc didn't had it's own church, probably only a chapel, and traveling parish priest came to serve.

Back to the name of your ancestor, could begins with the fancy P like Parochus, not like the common P names on the page, and goes like Páris.

Kezdi,
Thank You! I think you may be right about the name being Paris. I am going to look at the microfilms again on Thursday and try to find another record pertaining to them and see if the name is written any clearer!
