Only one listing in Croatia's phone book for HRKAC in town of Zdihovo.

The Slovenia's phone book is listing 2 HRKAC's.

Did you check Ellis Island website for you ancestor? There were 5 that did pass thru that port. It seems like your Bariska might be the Barisa Hrkac that passed thru May 31, 1911.

Hi Rick,
My name is Dinko Hrkac born in Bosnia 1960, son from father Franjo and mother Ivanka. My father was born in Kolibe Donje 1933. He seaarch for relatives who went to the states for about 80 years. His uncle Hrkac Ivan, brother from his father Marko landed in Pensilvania. He has married miss Maria and got children Agata,Ivan,Ante and Angela.Maybe you know som of them or their relatives.
Please let me know.
I will ask my father if he knows sombody names Bariska.
I hope we keep in touch.

Hi Filip, I am related to a Barisa/Bariska Hrkach (maybe Hrkac) my grandfather's name. He was born around 1890 and came to the United States around 1910. The only information I have is that my grandfather's father was a tobacco farmer in the croatia area. He lived in Pennsylvania, and had some cousins that lived in Pennsylvania also. I will try and find out the names of his cousins. I hope this helps.

Just adding some more information, I talked to my father and he said my grandfathers name was Barisa Hrkac, he had a brother named Marco, they were from a town called Mostar. My grandfather had a cousin named Frank, he lived in Pennsylvania also. If I get more info, I will post it.

hrkacs are not from Mostar the hrkacs are from Široki Brijeg!the best way to find information is than that you ask priests from Siroki Brijeg monastary
