twojean : information needed
The Orogvanyi's were: butchers, (Mihaly) furriers,(Andras) and tanners (Mihaly-son?). They sold at least some of their products to (and married their daughter to) John Maslej, who made embroidered capes and vests in partnership with Joseph Sprencz. All this happened in Humenne, Zemplen megye, between 1850 and 1900.
Does anyone have better information, sources, data, pictures to fill out this story? I'm told that John Maslej came from Zsalmany, Saros megye. Does anyone know for sure, and when?

Thank you.

Did you go thru the church records?
Surname MAS^LEJ (Slovak spelling) does show up in Humenne's (area code 057) phone book. www.zoznamst.sk
Zsalmany is now Zelmanovce (area code 054)no phone listing in Zelmanovce but the surname does list in good numbers in this area code.
