Emma

Bacsordas, Bacs-Bodrog megye, Hungary now Karavukovo, Serbia.
MARCZ could be your MEARZ.
Marcz, Jozsef Bacsordas 40 1867 1907
Marcz, Ana Karvukova, Serbia 5 1916 1921
Marcz, Anton Karvukova, Serbia 45 1876 1921
Marcz, Anton Karvukova, Serbia 16 1905 1921
Marcz, Margaret Karvukova, Serbia 42 1879 1921
Lainey has to be her American name as that is not Hungarian or German.
What time frame is the passport?

Birgit Fortier: Re: KARAWUKOWA SURNAMES
My mother, Marianne Erban was born a Knobl in Karavukovo 1929 {Wolfingen at the time} as well as for siblings:Stefan,Josef, Jakob and Barbara. My granndparents born in 1904 and 1906 in the same village but it was Bacsordas, Hungary then.Oma Knobl was born a Mellert. She had seven siblings and they married intofamilies: Franz, Gefrerer,Lang, Meschbach. Oma Knobl{nee Mellert}father Jakob married a Barbara Mellert and this was done at Kibonat. Opa Josef Knobl`s mother was also named Barbara and she was born Hellman. Great great Opa Adam Knobl went Milwaukee USA and died ssssshortly after. Then Barbara MY Knobl Opa`s mom remarried a Biro. Biro means magistrate in Hungarian. My mother Marianne is retired in Mexico, turning 82 still active and living idepently in paradise. She is the source of most of this info and she has more. I need to connect with any survivors or anyone with information. Yours sincerely Birgit Fortier(nee Erban] born 1949 in Karlsruhe Germany.

Paula Meiers: Arnold Family

Am working on my sister-in-law's family. Her grandfather was George Arnold -- Born Feb 22, 1884 in Bacsordas, Hungary. He came to the U.S. Sept 27, 1902. Parents were listed as John Arnold (born around 1860) and mother Kathryn "Katy" Benz (born around 1865). I don't believe his parents ever came to the U.S. Am interested in learning anything about the family -- especially about sibblings to George and what living in this area was in the 1880s to 1920s.

George Arnold married Antonia Koller born Aug 4, 1893 in Ojfridale, Hungary. I haven't been able to locate where Ojfridale is then or now. She came to the U.S. about 1906. Her parents were listed as Matt Koller (born about 1866) and Julianna "Julia" Hartyan (born about 1870). Her parents may have come to the U.S. too. Any information about the location and/or the family would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to anyone who can or will help.

Hello Paula,

Where can you read that it "Ojfridale"? An old document?
Please scan that document, and upload it here.
Maybe you're not well read.
