Hello, I am looking for information on the Jarabek family that left Kuklo in 1901(Johann) and 1906 (Elisabeth, Martin, Loiusie, Elena). I know they came to America through Ellis Island and settled in Cleveland, but I am wondering who their ancestors are. I noticed on Ellisisland.org there were other Jarabeks who came from Kuklo and settled in Cleveland, OH and I am wondering if any one else has them in their family trees.I wonder how and if they were all related. I was excited to find this forum so specific to Kuklo, I guess I'm not sure what to ask, I guess I want to know how I would go about contacting any Jarabek's still in Kuklo and whether they would even understand English in order to converse with me! Maybe they would know of some portion of their family that left Kuklo and travelled to America. thanks for any advice or info!

The town of Kuklov is in Slovak Republic.

www.zoznamst.sk is listing JARABEK but not in Kuklov.

The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) have filmed the church records of Slovak Republic but this region's films are not yet ready to be released. You might want to wait for the films, you might want to send a request to the SK's archive or you might want to hire a researcher in SK to do the research for you..

I would suggest sending a letter to the Jarabeks in the vicinity of Kuklov, in Slovak, with your ancestral information, your e-mail and a photo of your ancestor for that extra visual aid.

The closes town to Kuklov with a listing for Jarabek is Smolinske, Petrova Ves.
