Hello John
I am searching my family name POSPISCHIL from Kunbaja. I presume you also have family from Kunbaja. Would you have the family book? My gr-grandfather was Franz Pospischil, married Magdalena Pless from Milititsch. I need to find where he was born and who his parents were?
If you can help, I would truly appreciate any tidbit you can offer.

Hello there!

"Pospischil" is of Czech origin (but according to German spelling) meaning someone "who is in a hurry". The Czech form is "Pospišil" (pronounced as "pospishil")

Yes, the above sites is where I found the list of inhabitants of Kunbaja, with the name Pospischil listed.
I was hoping that someone may have the familybook and would be able to do a lookup for me. But, alas I will have to get the films to find the Pospischil families.

I have lot of Poszpischil ancestors (but not from Kunbaja).
My girlfriend origin towns are Bácsbokod (Bikity), Kunbaja, Gara and Bácsalmás. She may be able to do a lookup for you!

Thank you for you input. I took the opportunity to view you site and am very impressed with the layout. You are extremely talented. It is easy to navigate and peruse.
I presume the spelling of the Pospischil/Poszpichil etc is only a variation by culture and country. I wish I could see a connection. I have been told that the name is Czech, therefore somewhere in time my ancestors came from there.
I received an answer re Kunbaja-Pospischil. The time period is too late, into the 20th/21st century.
I will ask, that your friend look for the Pospischil name in her towns in Bacs.
