Várom a segítségüket!
Tisztelettel: Kacsinkó Adrián

Joan: Mary from Mihalyfa marries Eduard Kladler
(Also posted on Kladler Genealogy forum.)
Via EllisIsland.org, my great grandparents emigrated in 1904 to Cleveland OH, then Pittsburgh PA by 1920. Eduard Kladler (b. 1878) was said to be from Austria (or perhaps from Burgenland?) who came to the Lake Balaton area to be a horticultural apprentice (perhaps on one of many Esterhazys estates?). In Cleveland he immediately began working as gardener for the famous Rockefeller summer estate, Forest Hill, which unfortunately completely burned in 1917, leaving behind its famous gardens. His passenger record of May 1904 records'Magyar' from 'Budapest'. His wife Mary (b. 1879) arrives in Sept. 1904 and records as being from Mihalyfa, (Sumeg,Zala) and she has with her 6 mo old baby Roza, going to meet her husband in Cleveland. By 1920 they are in Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) PA. They have 3 more children, Joseph b. 1907, Mary b.1908 and Edward b.1910.

Roza, later 'Rose Hawkins', was my father's mother. I am looking for Eduard Kladler's place of birth or origination to trace family lines, and I am looking for 'Mary from Mihalyfa' family/surname. Assume she is Roman Catholic.

Have studied much of the Zala/Bakony/Orseg/Gocsej etc region history however I cannot read Hungarian, though starting to! I find a connection with this region, as a practitioner of botany/horticulture,cooking,art,and history and would like to know more.
Thank you
Joan
