Howard: MEZEY
Looking for anything to help trace my mother's relatives/burial site for her parents.
Her name was, we believe, Magda MEZEY dob. 29/06/34
She was left in Darjeeling immediately prior to the revolution.
Parents : Louis and Magda MEZEY.
Louis was a travelling agent and Magda was a professional dancer.
They lived in SASHALON or SOSHALON (?) very near to Budapest. ( I believe this was the English spelling of the town)

Zlatica : Re: MEZEY
I will try to help with some websites :

Check out Ellis Island website for your family name. There were 49 MEZEYs that did pass thru that port.

Hungary's phone site is at :
www.matav.hu/tudakozo

www.rat.de/kuijsten/navigator
http://vivisimo.com
www.imrehun.com pictures of a village
www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm (mapquest) is a good locator. For sure Sashalon is not a Magyar / Hungarian spelling of a town but above website should help some.

Diana Faught: Re: MEZEY
My good friend Louis Mezey was from Hungary as well. I know that he left Hungary during the revolution. I beleive he was born around 1901. Do you have the birth date of the Louis Mezey you are referring to? What is a traveling agent?

Sincerely,

Diana faught
