maggiemay: Peter Barenz Anyone know his wifes maiden name.
I’ am looking for any information on Eva Barenz (maiden name is Wilhelm? we think)and any siblings they may have had. I would like to find out what her Father and mothers names were as they are my Great Great Grandparents. Eva Was born in Yugoslavia and born November 14, 1871 Apparently Eva was the daughter a very important wealthy political man. The story was that he was beheaded for political reason I'm not sure if this part is true or not. At the young age of 13 Eva was left alone to fend for herself. Eva’s mothers’ whereabouts is a mystery today. A young man whom now is her husband Peter Barenz found Eva 1/2 dead in a ditch. Peter was born in the village Offerencia(town or Villiage), Banlak(District), Torontal (Province), Eva and her husband Came to Canada in 1912 they had 14 children. 6 of which I know came to Canada with them the other 8 children are believed to have died from diptheria or at birth one died jumping a fence and ruptured his bladder. I thought if I could find more on Peter Barenz it might lead me back to my Great Great Grandmother. One more thing Peter and Eva moved to a town called Gyorgyhaza I think the English translation is George House and at this time applied for their passports.

Any help would be great.

Zlatica : Re: Peter Barenz Anyone know his wifes maiden name.
Maggiemay,
The old 1910 Hungarian megye map is at :
http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910
The town of Gyorgyhaza also falls into Torontal megye and is in Yugoslavia.

I just remembered that I have seen your ancestral names someplace else so I went to check. It seems that Mr.JosephLaszloKupan gave you the film numbers for the church records. You need to locate a LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) in your area, order the film numbers that he provided for you and you can gather ancestral information off of them.
www.bmi.net/jjaso to familiarize yourself with church wording.
