My grandparents were born in Palast, (later Plastovce), which is now part of Slovakia. They came to Canada in the thirties and settled in southern Ontario. I would be interested in any information about the village, or any relatives I may still have there (surnames: Bobor, Korcsok, Juhasz). There was an interesting mention at the entries for Hokovce, but not very much detail. I can translate a little Hungarian but unfortunately no Slovak. Sincerely, rbobor

Sloveagle: Plastovce

Hi,

I am from Plastovce, Slovakia. Actually I was born in Sahy, appr.10km to the S, virtually on the SVK HUN border. I have an extended family there, but unfortunately not too much time to visit since my stay in BEL. You have reffer to several names...they are all still recognized in Plastovce. Should you have any Q's pls assk.

sloveagel: Palast/Plastovce

Hey R,

check out www.plastovce.sk. There is an ENG page I believe. The best way for you to check on the relatives is to get on the plane to Vienna, then by bus to Bratislava with proceeding by bus to Sahy and Plastovce. Plastovce is approx. 150 km from Bratislava, a nice 3hrs. journey.
