Sharon Hogan (nee: Prochot): Seeking Prochot relatives

I am seeking information on any relatives in Eastern Europe with the surname of Prochot. I am in Australia, but was born in Chicago - father Walter Prochot, born 30 April 1914, whose parents, Josephine and Albert, immigrated from Poland around 1910. I believe there are a number of Prochot families in Slovakia and Hungary. Any information would be appreciated.

My name is Jim Prochot, my father was William, Walter's brother. You must be Joe's sister. I don't have much information, but will see if my mom has anything.

Hi Jim,

I am going to be in NY later this year. Joe and I are meeting there to surprise my daughter who is working as a camp counsellor in upstate. We are then heading the UK and Ireland.

I have found a panel in the Ellis Island Honor wall with the names Wojciech and Jozefa Prochot. I believe they were are grandparents. They came from Zywiec Poland. Do you know anything about this. Anna Prochot (aged 4) is also on the panel.

In 1990 census of names there were 328 PROCHOTs in Poland.
www.herby.com.pl in Polish and only distribution.
PROCHOT surname still in Zywiec.
www.ksiazka-telefoniczna.com but because of privacy law, no full address.
