Helena: Birth certificate
Hi!

My Grandmother needs his father birth certificate, but the civil registry doesn't have it because he was born in 1894 and they have only after 1895. Where can i find the information to request his birth certificate if he was born in Prugy. does anyone know?

Hi,
It depends on religion, LDS/FHLC has the Church records on microfilms: FamilySearch.org - Family History Library Catalog

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp

Hung. Reformed under Prugy, R.Cath. under Tardos (Szabolcs), Gr.Cath. under Mezozombor, Jewish under Tiszadada.

Helena,
LDS/FHLC has the records, I copied the film number here. While looking the 1890 Hung. Census records, I learned that Prügy was called Pthrügy before, in case you run into it.

Helena: Re: Birth certificate
Thank you Joseph,

I will try to see if there is any way to see those films, but i think that if my grandma write a letter to the Izraelita Hitközseg in Tiszdada (I think is the equivalent of the synagogue)they will have to have the record and give her the certified copy on the birth certificate. She needs the phisic and legal one to process the passport.
I know that they have the film, but is there anyway to see the information inside?

thanks

Helena,
You're welcome, you have to contact your closest LDS/FHLC Library Center and order the film to see the records. But if you need notarized copy, better write the Mayor of Tiszadada, or the nearest Hung. Embassy or Consulate.

Helena: Re: Birth certificate
Thanks again Joseph,

I wrote to the notary and will see if The vital records of my greatgrandfather are there or if he can address me to the right location.

It is a shame that in my country we can not have the information of the LDS/FHLC Library Center like in US, but since we need the legal document we have to request it directly in Hungary. The film would helped to see the exact location of the records, but it is impossible to me to see it.

Thanks again for all your kind help, it was a huge help.

Helena: Re: Birth certificate
Hi Joseph,

Some nice people like you pass by the SLC library and look for the information that you suggest, in fact it appears under Tiszadada and my grandma's dad information was there.
So I think that maybe the Tiszadada's notary could help me to find out how can we reuqest the legal document.

I am astonished to find out that really nice people like you are around the world....

I appreciate all your help

Thanks
Helena
