Baczuk

We have corresponded before. I see that you have included another surname.
The town of Brzotin is listing LOBOCZKA (female) and a LOBOCKA listing also in town of Roznava.
Another LOBOCKY shows up in Dolny Pial.
The town of Roznava and Brzotin fall into area code 58 and in this area surname BALINT, VRABEC, ISTVAN,STEFANIK, STEFANCIK, and BACIK.

Berto: Re: BACZIK

All of those names are my immediate family and at least two are deceased.

Thanks anyway.

My grandparents arrived at Ellis Is. in 1922 on the SS Homeric and I don't have much info other than that.

Over the yrs there have been several of my surname processed thru Ellis bit I cannot locate any descendants with my internet searches yet still living in the US.

Lookig for living relatives in this case. Thank you for all the help you can provide.

I have no paid subscription to Ancestry. Did you find the family in a 1930 census? Possible that the descendants might have changed the spelling of the surname. Have you posted on Ancestry and Genforum boards?

Zsuzsanna

Who am I? Not related and not researching the surname.
No BACZUK or BACZIK but GYURKE in Slovakia's phone book. www.zoznamst.sk The ending CZUK is not Slovak.
AK-/-EK/-IK/-KA/-KO/-UK/-YK
Suffixes with a -k- generally began as diminutives. In other words, Jan is the Polish form of "John," and Janek or Janko is much like "Johnny." English, however, typically has only a couple of diminutive suffixes, -y or -ie. Polish (and the other Slavic languages) have tons of them. Most have a -k- in there somewhere, or the-k- has been modified by the addition of further suffixes (e. g., -czak, -czyk). As a rule, in surnames a suffix with -k- means something like "little" or "son of
In 1990 census of names there were 14 BACZUKs in Poland.
