temesvar: Stamora Germana
Looking for any information regarding Stamora Germana. My Great grandfather Johan, his wife Catharina, and two children, Christina and Andreas, immigrated from there to Philadelphia, USA in 1903. Any information about the villages history or the current status of the vilage is appreciated.
thanks

Jim

I am sure you located the town of Stamora Germana in Romania by using www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm
Using One Step to locate people that came from a certain village thru Ellis Island www.jewishgen.org/databases/EIDB/ellis.html 12 from Stamora Germana and 25 from Nemetsztamora.
This site should be of help:
www.genealogienetz.de/reg/ESE/dsinfo.htm
The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) is listing church records of Stamora Germana / Nemetsztamora/Deutsch-Stamora. You can order the films and gather ancestral information.

Temesvar: Re: Stamora Germana
Aurelia, thank you for your response. The family name is Steuer. The family left Stamora in or around 1903 to travel to Philadelphia, USA. The family include my great grandfather, Johan, his wife, Katharina (Messaros), my grandfather, Andreas, born in Stamora, March 12, 1898 and his sister, Christina, born January 19, 1896.
Any information is most appreciated. Hopefully you may have some past history and even an discription of present day Stamora or a current photo. You can contact me through the forum or directly at bockflock -a-t- comcast -d-o-t- net
Again, thank you for the contact.
