It seems that this Stavne / Sztavna, Ung megye is in Ukraine.

No one by the surname LUPUSANEK passed thru Ellis Island.
I did not locate any Lupusaneks in Slovak Republic or Poland. Try posting on Ukraine's board.

My grandmother, Marya Lupusanek, came through Ellis Island in 1913. I have the record.

I am not doubting you. All I know that I can not locate her manifest on the Ellis Island website under the spelling Lupusanek.
In any case, since it seems the town is in Ukraine, I can not be of any further help. Maybe this website might be of some help from the history point of view if nothing else.
