Hi,

One of the ancestors of mother's family passed in Walachia in 1820-1830, another one in Moldavia, but they seems to have a third brother who went in Hungaria. In 1930, one of my grand father cousins found them in Budapest. But I have no other information about this branch.

Hi,

Sorry to be lat e with the answer, I've benn out for a couple of days.
Thank you for the answer.
The person my aunt met in the '30th was from Budapest, like the rest of the familly. So I dont'konow if Visk fits. I've got a book from 1885 with the famillys from Transilvania, I'll look if the Stojka of Visk are there.
Best regards.

Hi Sandor,
Sorry, but I missed your February 2006 message, but not this one .
Where are you from ?
The picture looks to be made in a Central Europe town, isn't it ?
What do you know about your familly roots ?
My informations concern only the Romanian branch.

Regards,
Tudor

Tudor: Re: SZTOJKA FAMILY
Hi Louise,

The information conceernig Stojka of Visk, from the book :
"I.Cav. de Puscariu -Datele Istorice privitoare la Familiele nobile române, vol II -Sibiu 1895" (Ion knight of Puscariu-Hystoricals facts concerning Romanian nobly families)are poor : he mention Sztojka of Vist(probabily Vistea in Fagaras Land - not Visk), and he send to the first volume, that I don't get.
Here's the notice :
"Sztojka de (of) Vist, see Sandor de Eadem ("same" in Latin), Vasz de Arpas (another place in Fagaras Land) in volume I, pg.176,178."
So I got to look in the first volume, but I didn't get it !
I have no ideea if you can found it in USA, but I know the Mormons have in Salt Lake City a huge archive concernig people from everywhere in the world : maybe you can contact them.
On the other hand in the book it's mentioned the only in Venetia in that time (1885-1895) lived about 85-90 famillies bearing Sztojka name !

Regards,
Tudor
