| Introduction | I have recently had my Slovak Republic family researched and now have the "pleasure" of getting to know them regularly via writing, e-mail, and exchanging of family pictures. My father's parents were both born in a small village in the Slovak Republic called Gerlachov in Saris County. My father's parents were Georgius Sevcsik and Anna (Dorin) Sevcsik. It is more common now that the surname is spelled Sevcik. I was told that my family surname in Hungary would be spelled as SZEFCSIK. But, it has been confirmed that I DO have family in the Budapest area (possible other areas too)that spell their name as SEVCSIK and also SEVCIK! I was so surprised and excited! It has been "my prayer" to know my family no matter how distant for as long as I can remember. Family is and always was very important to me. My prayer has been answered wonderfully in the Slovak Republic. I pray now that my prayer is also answered to find my family in Hungary.
