Anne Sprentz: Sprencz/Princz 11/09/2003, 23:33:05
My ggrandfather Mihaly Sprencz/Princz was born in Satoraljaujhely, Zemplin Megye in 1879.

His brother Jozsef was born 1866 in Hummene, according to his grandson.

My ggrandfather used several different spellings, but the Ellis Island manifest has him as Sprencz, which I think was the original name, or the spelling they used in Hungary. It's been spelled Sprencz, Sprentz, Sprintz, Princz, Printz, Prince, etc on several different documents.

THere is also a Gyorgy Sprencz who came to the US in 1899, and who's last residence was Satoraljaujhely. According the the Ellis Island manifest, he was born in 1873. I am not sure if this is a brother to my Sprencz/Princz's or not, but fairly certain it's a relative.

Both brothers settled in Dayton, Oh.
