| Emery (Imre) Kertai’s (b. Nov. 4, 1877) death certificate did not reveal his parents, nor did his wife, Anna (Racz) Kertai (b. July 26, 1886 in Raba P). Anna (Racz) Kertai’s siblings, Erno and Laci Racz, brothers, and Agnes Racz, sister (she married a man with the surname, Varga) – all were in Hungary when Anna died in 1979.
Imre has a sister named Julia. Imre can be seen on the ship manifesto dated Jan 07, 1905, listing his father-in-law as Abraham Ferencz. From Anna Racz’s manifesto she lists her father as Istvani Racz. Imre Kertai and Anna (Racz) Kertai birth years were separated by almost 11 years, so Imre could possibly have lost a first wife before he married Anna Racz. Note, there is a Nandor Kertai, b. Oct. 5, 1895 that emigrated to So. Bend, also, much later than 1905, from Raba P., I have not been able to connect them! Anna (Racz) Kertai traveled to Rosebush/Mt. Pleasant Mi. with my father, mother, and Andy Horvath. Andy has a sister called Elizabeth (aka “Seconda” – meaning second born). Elizabeth Horvath married an unknown Voros. The Horvath’s parents are Julia (Julianna) Koller and Stephanus Horvath, and that is how they are connected to my grandfather, “Balint” Galgoczi, son to Stephanus and Rosalia (Horvath) Galgoczi. Kertai – Racz – Horvath – Koller – Voros they all went to South Bend, Indiana early 1900 – 1920s. My grandfather, “Balint” Galgoczi – which you mentioned originally, has really sparked my interest. I would love to know where you came across his name on the film. ( My computer is in the shop, am replying from work.) Thank you so much, Nadine | ||
