| There is one very interesting book “BAJMOK UTCANEVEI” from Mojzes Antal published in 2003 by Grafoprodukt Szabadka.
According to this book in cadastral records from 1904 this house was listed in Kossuth Lajos st. No. 35. and belonged to Holzhacker Boldizsar. After WWW I this street was renamed to Strossmayer st. Another interesting detail from history of Bajmok is that first electric power plant was placed in this house in 1923. The steam turbine was operating by burning coal. It was purchased from USA and was running only over night in order to provide electric light in houses. (115V). It was shut down in 1953. House was demolished around 1985 and an apartment building has been built on its lot. Hope this helps. Do you have more pictures from that period since one you have posted is beautiful? | ||
