My wife is a great, great granddaughter of Josef & Elizabeth (Lovranich?) Wehofer who we think were married in Odenburg (Sopron) Hungary. They had a large family (12 children we think - Anna, Antone, Elizabeth, Franz, Johan, Josef, Karl, Leopold, Maria, Paule, Rudolf & ?). Maria, my wife's great grandmother, was born in 1888, don't know about the others except Rudolf was the youngest. We have recently also made contact with descendants of Rudolf. We know very little of the children except that while Maria married in 1909 in Vienna (Wien - Parish Margarethen, St. Florian) & came to New York, NY, USA shortly after World War I and Rudolf,s daughter, Olga, came to New York, NY USA (probably with her parents as she was only 16 years old then) in 1950 most others remained in Hungary/Austria at least until after World War II. We think there is a relative there named Arnold Wehofer and an Internet telephone book search for Austria turned up many Wehofers (about 100). Our info on Maria's & Rudolf's families are very complete except that a son of Rudolf's, Frenec (Frank), went missing during WWII and was never heard from again. We would be pleased if you can offer any assistance in our research of the Wehofer family. Does any of the above fit into your family history? Do you know other Wehofers who are or are not related to you & / or us? If you are related to us I can supply what information I have if you would care to have it. Thank you for your patience & assistance. | ||
