Zlatica : Re: Burza & Zabrocrecky27/12/2003, 15:05:27
There is a town named Zabokreky and Zabokreky nad Nitrou.
http://mapy.atlas.sk for locating a town

www.zoznamst.sk SK's phone site

The Ellis Island website is listing Anna BURZA arriving in 1920 from Jibokrcky Nitrfa, Slovakia. I would say it should be Zabokreky, Nitra region of Slovakia. Istvan (Stefan) Burza too was from Nyitbroszambokret/ Nyitrazsambokret which is now Zabokreky nad Nitrou.
The old 1910 Hungarian megye map is at :

This Zabokreky nad Nitrou is South of Banovce nad Bebravou, West of Partizanske and North-East of Topolcany.

The town of Banovce's phone book is listing BURZA and much more listings in Partizanske's phone book. They could be your distant relatives. You might want to consider sending them a letter with your family information, your e-mail, photo of your ancestor for that extra visual aid before your trip. Would be a shame you being there and not connect with the relatives.
