There are names that can be found thru several European countries. Then there are names that are strickly found only in a certain region of one country.
You need to start the research with what you know : YOU and go backwards untill you come upon the ancestor that came from the :old country:. In any case, you need to locate a name of a town in order to proceed with the research.

Check out Ellis Island website for the surname ZADORY. Do you know the language your ancestor spoke? Did they consider themselves to be Magyar/ Hungarian?
