djtiffi: Re: Tifinger Istvan27/02/2004, 06:45:53
Melissa: I have had the LDS church records of Aka,Hungary brought into the LDS family history centre here in Edmonton. I have discovered that my Grandfather Istvan was the only surving child of eight children born to my Great grandparents. The records indicate my Great-great grandfather was also named Istvan Tiffinger and that he originated from the village of Mor and that his father's name was Janos Tiffinger. They resided at house #492 in Mor. Mor is about 26km to the southeast from Aka. My Great-great grandfather Istvan married Anna Kluiber, who resided at house #88 in Aka, on the 29th of April 1873. My grandfather Istvan was born on Oct 14th,1879 in Aka, house #88 according to the records. According to the Hungarian telephone directory there are some Tiffingers still residing in Mor.
