Ron Horvath: Re: Horvath Koller Czvitko01/03/2004, 20:35:11
Nadine,
My Grandparents from Kosice, Slovakia have a Horvath-Kollar connection. Their names were Andrej (changed to Andrew in US)Horvath and Maria (Mary in US) Kollar. They were married in 1910 in Kosice. Andrew's parent's names were Stephen Horvath and Mary Varga. Andrew was born on June 10, 1886. They came to the US in the spring of 1921 and I have no connection to any family that they left in Slovakia. The only document that I have is a baptismal certificate for one of their Daughters, Elizabeth (Alsbeta) Horvath. She was baptized in a church in a city that is today named Kosicke Olsany (in 1921 it was called Vysny Olcvar), 6.5 km east of the center of Kosice. I note that the spelling of Koller (Kollar) is different, but I thought it might be worth a try to see if there is any connection.
Thank you and Good luck!
