Sharron: Horvath/Szabo family from Rabapordany/Sopron18/03/2005, 01:26:11
I know this is a shot in the dark since Horvath and Szabo are such common names. I'm trying to locate descendants of my great-grandfather Horvath's family.
Jozsef Horvath [born in the 1860's]and his wife, Borbala Szabo Horvath, lived in Rabapordany. They had six children: 4 daughters -- Agnes, Borbala, Terez and Franciska and 2 sons -- Jozsef and Ferenc.
Borbala [born 1890] emigrated to USA in 1907 at age 17 and Terez [born 1896] emigrated to USA in 1913 at age 17. They lived in Belmont County [Bridgeport/Bellaire] Ohio, across the Ohio River from Wheeling, West Virginia. The two sisters married two brothers [Jozsef and Mihaly Ihasz -- later changed to Ehasz] who emigrated from Vaszar in 1902 at the ages of eleven and seven.
I do not believe that any of the other Horvath/Szabo offspring emigrated to the USA, so their grandchildren or great-grandchildren might still be living in the Sopron area.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
