I am a descendant of Vecsey Karoly, one of the l3 generals executed as traitors against the Austrian Empire during the Hungarian Independence War. My mother, born a Vecsey in the town of Futok, near Novi-Sad, Yugoslavia, did not know very much about her ancestor, as she was born into poor circumstances, as was her father before her. I was told that after General Vecsey was hanged, he left behind a son who hid in Futok and earned himself a living by herding sheep. Judging by birth dates, he would have been my grandfather's father. I wrote to grofvecsey -a-t- yahoo -d-o-t- com, but only got a reply in Hungarian, which I don't understand, as my mother tongue was German. Would appreciate some feedback
