Greetings Thomas,

It is always exciting to hear from someone who has a connection with Kolut. I also have 'KOLUT Heimat Erinnerung und Mahnung" Band I and Band II. What is Band III?

Now some family background. My grandparents, Anton (P)Braschinger and Anna Heckenberger immigrated to the US in 1906. Anton was born in Bereg and Anna was born in Kolut. All of Anton's brothers and sisters came to the US except one, Stephan, who was born Jan. 05, 1879 in Bereg. Anna's parents, Andreas Heckenberger and Rosalie Risili as well as Anna's brother and sister also immigrated to the US. I do not know anything about Stephan and it has been my hope to find some of his descendants as the word was he was married and had two children. I realize they would have had to survive both WWI and WWII but I did see the name Braschinger on page 3 of the KOLUT Band II. As English is my only language, researching German documents is most difficult for me. Do you recognize any of these family names? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Other names in my tree are: Marianna Pfaff from Kolut, Johann Sauer from Kolut, Conrad Trap - maybe from Bereg, Anna Eckert from Kolut. There are many more, but I won't burden you will all of them. I will say the Risili name has been seen spelled many different ways: Riesler, Risili, Risilie, Rieseli, Risele, etc.

I hope to hear from you again. (I sent this message earlier but don't think it went through. I hope you're not getting a duplicate)

Sincerely
Judy
