| Dear Nadine,
It seems Mrs Karoly Galgoczi found Walter/Balint Galgoczi ancient. All of his father and mother data is equivalent to the “Application for marriage license”. Regarding this your USA Galgoczi line belongs to the Galgoczy family of Menfocsanak line. The parents known children: Terez 1873., Ilona 1888., Adorjan 1882. and Etelka 1892. Mrs Karoly Galgoczi will search again in the Koronco birth register to find Balint/Walter too. She is the lovely person who is the wife of the brother of the famous Hungarian writer Erzsebet Galgoczi. I owe thanks to her, for his manuscript entitled "The hapless of Hlohovec, or the history of the Galgoczi family of Menfocsanak” An extract of this can be read on my site here: http://www.galgoczy.hu/ShowPage.aspx?Path=/EnglishPages/Családfakutatás/Menfocsanaki Galgoczi csalad (the English translation will be ready at the end of this month) and your ancient data can be found here http://www.galgoczy.hu/ShowPage.aspx?Path=/EnglishPages/Családtagoknak/GreatFamily/Keresse meg oseit by searching for the persons belonging to the Menfocsanak line. Armalis: coats of arms or letters patent without a royal donation of estate ¬– those nobles who together with their coats of arms did not receive an estate from the king. These were therefore practically landless and are referred to as „nobles with armalis” in Hungarian historiography (as opposed to the landed gentry). Best regards Antal Galgoczi | ||
