Susan: Re: Korim21/06/2006, 17:23:29
My grandfather was Stephen Mocsny (Moczny, Moczni) who was the son of Andrew Mocsny and Mary Garay Mocsny. As you see, they Anglicized their names when they came to the U.S. In English, the name Garaj is pronounced Garay, so they just used that spelling. I know at least four of her siblings came to the U.S. also. I found her brothers Michael, John and her sisters Pauline and Helen all in Ohio, where my greatgrandparents settled. (City of Elyria, Lorain County, state of Ohio, U.S.)

Their mother was Maria Korim and their father Janos Garaj.

I know there were some Korims in Elyria. I found an article in an old newspaper that talks about Helen and Pauline Korim in a club meeting at the Social Settlement in October 1925.

Feel free to contact me off this list if you can provide information about the family in Slovakia or just want to coordinate investigation.
