As a descendent of immigrants from the village of Ecs and Nyul, I am very interested in learning about the local history from Roman times to the Napoleonic Wars and of the origin of the Vaszari family and their settlement in Ecs. Records refer to the village as Esu in 1172. Also records in the 1500's describe the village as a wine producing area. The village may have been destroyed in early 1700's and then repopulated. Perhaps this is when the Vaszari family arrived. Also, Napoleon's army went through Ecs in June 1809 during the Battle of Raab. These are topics of interest to me. Any help would be appreciated.
