dirtyhands0321: Obratil surname22/12/2007, 03:06:49
The Obratil surname is actually Slovakian not Hungarian. The name "Obratil" means "turn around" in Slovak. Most Obratils' can trace their family back to Trnava about 40km outside of the capitol city of Bratislava. Than alot of Obratils' moved over to the Czech Republic side of czechoslovakia during Soviet Occupation. Also some even moved during WWI down to the former Yugoslavia, regions such as Croatia(Pozega,Slovonija)and which is now Sarajevo. Some have stayed, and some have moved to the US, Cleveland, Ohio region during the 1920's. Hope this helps you out.
