| Dear Balazs & Lajos,
Thank you so much for your replies!!!!! I am very excited to get news about the Fegyverneki family. I have been trying for many years to learn about my family history. In July 2009 I sent many letters to Fegyverneki families in Hungary and only learned a little. I hope that you can read English because I am very poor at translating Hungarian. I do know a little, but I need a dictionary to translate most words. I can tell you the following: - I was born in 1953, in Sajohidveg and my father Fegyverneki Imre (1928-2003) brought our family to Canada in November, 1956. I have 2 brothers who were born in Miskolc, and one sister born here in Canada. - My Great Grandfather Fegyverneki Imre(1866-1934), and my grandfather Fegyverneki Imre (1899-1979) are the ones who travelled to the USA in 1914. They did not stay and returned to Hungary. I do not know the date, but I am sure it was because of World War I. - My grandfather then lived and married in Hungary. He then came to Canada in April 1928, and my grandmother (Kiss, Jolan) came in 1930. --- Library & Archives, Canada--- Immigration records 1925-1935) - My father was raised by his grandmother (Korodi Piroska) in Hungary. I do not know which village, but it was close to Sajohidveg where my mother,Nagy Jolan was born and grew up. - I know that there are some Fegyverneki family buried in theSajohidveg cemetary. - My father told me a story of two Fegyverneki's marrying each other and having two boys, so maybe we are related through Fegyverneki Piroska, He remembered meeting 2 boys about his age when he was only 12-13 years old but did not remember who they were. - I live in the town of Onoway, Alberta, Canada with my wife Brenda. We have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Balazs, I will work hard at translating your messages!!! Lajos, your English is just fine for me to understand!!! Thank you both!!!!!! ... Please e-mail me at jbfegy -a-t- xplornet -d-o-t- com and we will talk more! Olyan nagy nap! Jim (Imre) | ||
