shazboth: Starting my family tree

I am starting my family tree.
Both my grand parents are from the Acs / Gyor / Komarom area
They also where both orphands...which makes things dificult. Grand dad was Ferenc Asboth and died in the 70's

Please send any information you may have to help get me started

There is 260 hit in the MATAV phone directory under the name" Asbóth". Try the Gyõr area first. Make sure about the proper hungarian typing for you to have good results. You need hungarian keyboard.

I listed a letter of introduction on EBAY last night which was introducing A. Asboth to the Gov of New York dated April 22, 1861. The letter indicated that he was Hungarian and was offering his service to the Gov to serve in the military. This is listed as EBAY item number 6532845999 should you be interested.

Asboth Albert János, illetve gyermekei stb.
Õ unokatestvére volt Lajos 1848-as ezredesnek.

több helyrõl is kaptam értesítést a keszthelyi Asbóth megemlékezésrõl. Az Interneten az is megjelent, hogy jön a kiállítás Budapestre is. Az elmúlt hetekben kiírtam a mormon adatbázisból az Asbóth adatokat, de persze nem igazán tudok mindent összerakni. Egy családfa sokat segítene. Bihariné Asbóth Emõkével is szívesen együttmûködnék egy teljes Asbóth családfa létrehozásában.
