Ken Curtis: Asztmondja=Aszmongya?
Looking to see if the ASZTMONDJA is any relation to our ASZMONGYAs from NagyKapos, Ung, Hungary. Janos and Elizabeth R. (TOTH) ASZMONGYA came to the Homestead, PA, U.S.A. area around 1880 to 1885.

Zlatica : Re: Asztmondja=Aszmongya?
Being that the spelling is so very similar, I want to say that there is a connection. It is possible that this spellings Asztmondja was written the way it sounded to the person taking down the information. The GYA in Slavic person's ear might sound like DJA. The only way to know is to check the church records in NagyKapos / Velke Kapusany, Slovak Republic.
You looked in the Ellis Island website and noticed that there were 3 ASZTMONDJAs, AZTMONDYA and OZTMONDJA?
