I AM THE SON OF ZDENKO BAJNOCZY,I BELIEVE ZDENKO WAS THE STEP-SON OF JOSEF BROTHER TO EVA.I WAS NOT CLOSE TO MY FATHER (ZDENKO/VICTOR) BECAUSE OF HIS STERN MILITARISTIC MANNER.I AM TOLD JOSEF WAS THE SAME.MY MOTHER WAS LENKE SANDOR FROM KESEG.THEY CHANGED THEIR NAMES AND CAME TO AMERICA AROUND 1948-56.THE NAME IS NOW BAYFORD.I ALAN BAYFORD LIVE IN N.C. USA,MY BROTHER ERNEST IS MARRIED AND LIVES IN ALABAMA.FUNNY-MY BROTHER BECAME A CAPT IN US ARMY IN VIETNAM AS A RED CROSS HELICOPTER PILOT.ME ,ALAN WAS IN GERMANY 1972-3 AS AN ENLISTED MAN.

Siegrid: General Bajnoczy

Hello Alan,

As you may know, Gen. Bajnoczy was deputy chief of staff to Gen. Ferenc Szombathelyi from Nov. 1941-Apr. 1944. The latter was my grandmother's cousin. There is an interesting book with photos and biographies of these men: "The Hungarian Army & Its Military Leadership in WWII" by Andris J. Kursietis, 1999.

I know the name bajnoczy with a Y is uncommon even in Hungary. My dad Philip Laszlo Bajnoczy did talk a little about the days in WW11. My middle name is also Joseph, the American way of spelling. This was after my Hungarian Grandfother. I never had a chance to meet. I was born in
Switzerland in 1963. We came the USA in 1966 from Greece. I have picture of my Grand fother and grandmother. I'm sending it along. please notify me with any information!
